The SAT:
The SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) is an aptitude test. Like other aptitude tests, the SAT has chosen math and English to measure intellectual ability. The majority of admission decisions into colleges are based on the criteria of SAT score. Not only admission decisions but also the eligibility for scholarships you are entitled to receive are decided through the SAT scores.
Test Format (the New SAT):
The SAT is a 3-hour and 45 minutes test in which only 3 hour and 20 minutes count towards the score; the experimental section being not scored. The key to performing well for the vast majority of people on the SAT is not the number of questions they answer but the percentage they answer correctly.
